Here are some completion statements you gave on the very first day of class to the prompt "If math was a person..."

  • ...it would be a very important friend that I try not to neglect, but sometimes do. Then math comes up to me and slaps me on the face twice, reminding me that I should be caring about it more than I do sometimes.

  • ...I wouldn't like him.

  • ...I'd probably be friends with them even if they are super confusing at times.

  • ...I would walk away from math...they're not worth my time

  • ...I would ask why they betrayed me (...last semester).

  • ...I'd hate them most of the time, but occasionally have some fun with them.

  • ...I'd ask them for the answers for the questions of the universe.

  • ...I'd slap them.

  • ...I'd shake their hand.

  • ...I'd thank him/her for how it not only helps individuals, but also the world we live in today. Because life is full of calculations and without it, what would we do.

  • ...I would avoid them at all possible costs.

  • ...I would punch him in the face because of all the stress math has caused me.

  • ...I would slap them.

  • ...I would only talk to them if I had to, as they would be confusing.

  • ...I'd offer to take him/her for dinner and thank them for being so nice to me. I'd also tell them he/she is my favorite person.

  • ...I would ask them why they hate me so much, even when I try to like them.

  • ...I might lock them away in some hidden basement in the middle of nowhere.

  • ...I would give him a high five for not completely destroying me last semester...however I might punch him for making me suffer...

  • ...I would ask him to race, but always be slightly behind.

  • ...I'd be their pal.

  • ...they'd be a longtime friend that gets more complex the older they get.

  • ...I would ask how to solve every hard question I encounter.

  • ...I'd give him a high five.

  • ...I would say "you are fun sometimes, but I hate you a bit."

  • ...I'd walk the other way.

  • ...I would pay them to pass me through this course.

  • ...I would ask him/her why math is so hard . I finally get a chance to ask this face-to-face.

  • ...I will make friends with him.
